Communication Unit KJ-10

KJ-10 Communication Unit is used to establish a communication link between the local terminals (Monitoring and Control Terminal UST-10G, UST-3, Measuring Terminal MT-10SX, Alarm Monitor AM-xx, Overcurrent Relay NR-100, etc.) and control center. Local terminals are connected via RS485 or F.O. lines and MODBUS-RTU protocol. The control center can be connected, depending on the available communication interface, via the RS485, RS232C or ETHERNET line, and IEC60870-5-101, IEC60870-5-104 or MODBUS-RTU (TCP) protocols can be applied.

Configuring the Communication Unit is performed using KJ DIALOG or a memory card. In KJ DIALOG it is possible to define the parameters of the communication line of the local terminals, the address and type of local terminals, the communication parameters of the line that connects to the control center, the protocol parameters, store and forward parameters for the radio connection, etc.

  • communication with local terminals via RS485 or F.O. lines and MODBUS RTU protocols
  • communication with the remote control center via RS485, RS232 or ETHERNET lines and some of the available communication paths (radio connection, telephone connection, optical connection)
  • for communication with the control center, one of the standard protocols IEC 60870-5-101, IEC 60870-5-104, MODBUS RTU (TCP) is available,
  • four communication ports and four analog inputs
  • saving and grouping the acquired data into internal fields
  • time synchronization after receiving a message from the remote control center
  • parameterization and configuration using KJ DIALOG or memory card (SD)
  • selection of communication parameters with the master system – the address of the KJ-10, the transfer rate, etc., the selection of communication parameters with local terminals – types of local terminals, local terminal addresses, hysteresis of analog measurement quantities, etc.
store & forward function with the possibility of double forwarding
  • diagnostic functions
